This video gives vocabulary and sample sentences on the topic of family and relations. It covers the wider family like aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews as well but there is the option to just use the first part and later expand on the rest. It is illustrated with colourful pictures and spoken slow and clear. Furthermore, the spoken words are also presented in written German and (in smaller print) in English translation.

A simple video going through the members of the close family. After introducing all the family members there is a question game to test and practice the new words.

Das Jahreszeitenlied- Wissenslieder für Kinder – 2,25min

An easy children’s song about the four seasons. Some very simple grammar and the use of colours.

Die Jahreszeiten lernen- Schule – Vorschule – 2,39min

Explanation of the four seasons in slow and clear German. The seasons are written in capitals and supported by suiting visuals. The video explains some changes and activities that take place in each season and shows which month are usually associated with each season. There is the option to switch on autogenerated English subtitles for the more difficult grammar but there are pictures used to explain visually.

This video uses a Jahreskreis to list and explain the twelve months and then sort them into the seasons. Can be used as a lead into an activity where the children make their own Jahreskreis or just focus on their favourite month and season and draw the reason why it is their favourite.

This is a popular children’s song listing the days of the week. For this song all children stand and every time a day of the week is mentioned everyone has to do a squat. It’s a fun way to get children moving while learning the days of the week.
