Deutsch perfekt
Deutsch perfekt reports on current topics – everyday life as well as culture and society – from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. All texts are written especially for learners of German. Explanations of difficult words make reading comprehension easier and help you to increase your vocabulary. You can also find special exercises for reading comprehension here.
Fluter
The Fluter is a free youth magazine published by the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Each issue deals with a current socio-political or country-specific topic. Since February 2021, the Fluter has also been producing the podcast Große Frage, kleine Pause. In each episode, a complex question on topics of our time is posed in order to then find an answer to it that is as concise as possible
Almablog.de
Almablog.de contains several texts on different topics including, travel, living in Germany and lifestyle. When you click on one of the red circles, you will find a list of texts related to the topic of your choice. There are highlighted words which might be new to you followed by an explanation, there are also some that highlight the occurrence of specific verb forms. This is a good way to practice your reading skills and to learn new vocabularies from the context.
Deutsch Lernen Online (available in English)
Deutsch Lernen Online contains a collection of links to websites and texts that were specifically chosen for helping learners of German practice their language skills by reading and learning vocabularies from the context. The different links lead you to stories, online magazines and online newspapers. You can choose from beginner´s level and advanced level, or a mixture of both. The website is available in both German and English.
Lingua.com (Available with English instructions)
On Lingua.com you can find 40 texts for free, or if choosing to pay for the premium version there are 205 texts. All are written by German teachers. You can choose from levels A1 to B2. For each text, there are multiple choice questions testing your understanding of the text, and you can download a PDF version of each text. There is also an English version of this website available.
