The following links are a pathway to many radio stations. This can greatly improve listening comprehension and is a good way to immerse yourself in a foreign language.
ARD-Audiothek
This website offers a vast selection of public radio stations, including all regional stations, such as WDR for North-Rhine Westphalia or rbb for Berlin and Brandenburg, podcasts, audio dramas as well as the news. Private radio stations do exist in Germany; however, they largely remain local. All live streams are accessible from abroad, so this provides a great opportunity to test and train one’s listening comprehension skills.
Deutschlandradio
In addition to the public radio stations available on the ARD-Audiothek, Deutschlandfunk is a second valuable platform for public radio stations and news. Besides Deutschlandfunk, the main station focused on news, you can also choose Deutschlandfunk Kultur or Deutschlandfunk Nova at the top of the page. The former has a strong focus on classical music, while the latter provides a program for a young audience.
Radio.de
Radio.de bundles all public and private radio stations in one place. In the top bar, under Musikrichtungen, you can choose the music genre that you like the most. In addition, the website features the most popular private and public podcasts.
